The Development Coordinator will report to and collaborate with the Development Director. The ideal candidate will have a variety of nonprofit fundraising experience, in working on a variety of campaigns, grant writing, database management, and marketing. This person will be able to manage multiple projects at a time and have great time management and attention to detail. This position will also share responsibility for general administrative and office operations, serving as the first point of contact and providing information about programs, opportunities, and resources to the public.

Database Management

Manage donor database.

Process and track donations, sponsorships, and grant awards.

Conduct queries and reports to analyze fundraising data.

Coordinate gift stewardship, including thank you cards and impact reports.

Maintain stewardship calendar, with reporting deadlines for grants, sponsors, and donors.

Confidentially process donations and generate donor acknowledgments in a timely manner.

Produce and manage constituent reports, communication, and additional important templates.

Create and maintain constituent lists for communications, campaigns, appeals, and events.

Regularly validate and maintain constituent records in the database.

Enter key donor contact reports and conduct prospect and donor research.

Create and manage online donation pages as needed for campaigns and events.


Assist in writing and tracking grant proposals.

Conduct grant/foundation research to identify new opportunities for grant funding.

Collaborate with other staff members as needed in collecting information for grant proposals.


Enter and track event ticketing, donations, sponsorships; send acknowledgments.

Coordinate fundraising events, working with staff and volunteers.

Assist with remote events.


Create on brand graphic designs for digital and print communications for the organization.

Plan, create and schedule social media posts for the organization.

Oversee marketing and communications in alignment with brand

Maintain and coordinate content website and social media platforms

Create monthly newsletter and maintain email list

Collaborate with staff to create marketing strategies for programs

Assist in preparing Annual Report

Maintain media contacts and serve as a point of contact with media


  • A passionate and unwavering belief in UKANDU’s mission and strategy to bring hope, joy, and connection to communities impacted by childhood and adolescent cancer
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 3 years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising and marketing. Additional similar experience a plus!
  • Knowledge of Portland area and the community.
  • Affinity for learning and developing new skills, professional development, improving processes, etc.
  • Ability to work independently on projects and collaboratively with other staff, volunteers, board members, etc.
  • Experience and proficiency with graphic design and social media, creating a communications plan for a nonprofit. Proficiency in Buffer and Canva, or similar programs.
  • Experience and proficiency in working with a donor database: Salsa and/or NetworkForGood a plus.
  • Experience in working with Google Drive and other Google apps.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills electronically, telephonically, and face to face.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Innovative, resourceful, and collaborative interaction with community members and colleagues.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
