UKANDU'S YEAR IN REVIEW

2021 has been another year like no other. Take a deep breath…. and acknowledge how you got here and where you are, right now. YOU DID IT! As we move into the sometimes frenzied holiday season, a moment of peace is well-deserved.

Despite challenges, UKANDU has continued to grow, successfully launching two new programs! Of course, none of this would be possible without the incredible support of our community. So THANK YOU! for all you do to help us meet our mission.

Whether you give your dollars, your time, or your energy, all of your support allows us to continue providing hope, joy, and connection for our UKANDU families. Below are a few memories that we will cherish forever.

Cooking and Baking Series

We kicked off the year with three cooking and baking classes in March, April, and May. Participants got to experience a step-by-step cooking class making everything from Chicken Tacos to Strawberry Shortcake!

UKANDU Corps

Our newest program, UKANDU Corps, launched this year! 12 young leaders met bi-monthly to plan and execute two service projects to better our shared community. You can read more about UKANDU Corps and these amazing young leaders’ service projects here!

Drive-through Safari

We were able to safely bring together 90 participants for a socially distanced drive-through safari at Camp Collins! It was so great to see each other in person again. There were games, ice cream, a scavenger hunt, and most importantly, outrageous fun with our UKANDU family!

Virtual Camp

We once again held our week-long Virtual Camp UKANDU. Over 130 participants joined us for daily campfires, newscasts, arts and crafts, and so much more!

Holiday Series

We’re ending the year out with one in-person and two virtual events! Our October Kick-Off at Topaz Farms had a corn maze, pumpkins, s’mores, and more! November saw a delicious cooking class and December will feature a fun bingo night!
